How to Use WindowsClearCache to Boost Your PC Performance

When standard Windows cache-clearing tools or scripts fail to resolve system sluggishness, it is typically due to active background processes locking temporary folders, corrupted system files, hidden RAM standby lists, or a misconfigured Storage Sense service. The “WindowsClearCache” concept often refers to custom automated scripts (like those found on platforms like GitHub) or standard built-in functions that hit a wall when permissions or system conflicts lock files down.

If your system remains slow or cache deletion is failing, use these direct, sequential fixes to force-clear the bottlenecks.

1. Clear the System Cache via Run Dialog (Force Skip Locked Files)

Automated tools often fail because active apps are locking files in your directory. Manually clearing these folders bypassing the stuck scripts is the most direct remedy. Open the Run Box: Press Windows Key + R.

Target the Main Folders: Type temp and press Enter. Select everything inside using Ctrl + A and hit Delete.

Target the User App Cache: Open the Run box again, type %temp%, and repeat the deletion process.

Target Prefetch Files: Open the Run box a third time, type prefetch, and delete the contents.

The Crucial Step: If a prompt states a file is in use, click “Skip”. Do not try to force it; forcing it causes the system cleaning operation to hang indefinitely. 2. Purge System Files Using Admin-Level Disk Cleanup

The default storage utility might miss system-level update logs if it isn’t running with elevated privileges.

Press Windows Key + S, type Disk Cleanup, right-click the application, and choose Run as Administrator. Select your main operating system drive (usually C:).
