RhinoResurf2 is a specialized reverse engineering plug-in developed by RESURF. It is designed for Rhinoceros 3D (Rhino) to reconstruct free-form NURBS surfaces from polygon meshes and point clouds.

The developer’s historical RESURF Change Log outlines the milestone features and workflow enhancements implemented in the RhinoResurf2 Work-In-Progress (WIP) versions: 🛠️ Free-Form Modeling Commands

RsFaceFromLines: Generates smooth, free-form NURBS surfaces directly from manually defined polygon lines across a mesh.

RsFaceFromPolygon: Reconstructs free-form NURBS surfaces tightly matched to selected areas of a polygon mesh. 🤖 Automated NURBS Creation (RsAutoNurbs)

Redesigned UI: A streamlined dialog window allows users to generate fully completed NURBS surfaces with minimal manual input.

Two-Click Workflow: Reconstructing an entire mesh model can be executed using just two primary buttons: Curve network followed by Create surfaces. 📈 Enhanced Surface Fitting (RsMesh2Surf & RsPoints2Surf)

Cylinder-Homeomorphous Topology: Added a specialized topology template in RsMesh2Surf specifically optimized for mapping and fitting surfaces onto cylindrical mesh shapes.

Base Surface Matching: The RsPoints2Surf command includes a base surface checkbox, allowing users to select an existing model surface to serve as the initial mathematical starting point for point fitting.

Faster Mode Calculation: A dedicated faster mode toggle in RsPoints2Surf drastically cuts down computational processing times when processing highly dense surface control point grids (exceeding 100×100 control points).

If you are trying to download or implement these tools, are you looking to use them for point cloud data or polygon meshes? If you tell me the version of Rhino you are currently running (such as Rhino 7, 8, or the 9 WIP), I can guide you toward the best workflows. New in Rhino 9
